The 5 Themes of Geography for Vietnam

The Location of Vietnam, is the easternmost country in the Indochina penninsula in Southeast Asia, it is bordered by China in the north, Loas in the northwest, Cambodia to the southwest, and is also Northwast of Asutralia. The Place of Vietnam, is the diversity in geography in Vietnam. It is 20% flatland, 40% mountain with smaller hills acounting for 40% of that, and tropical forests at 42%. The highlands are 16%, and and the arable land is 22% of the total forested land. H.E.I of Vietnam, is the use of the diefferent tyoes of geography, from using the mountains from many things, or the forests for other things. Movement in Vietnam is the trading of goods to neighboring countries by ocean, or by land. People travel by boat or by car to and from Vietnam. And goods are tranported throughout the individual country. The Region of Vietnam is again Southeast Asia.

The Vietnam War

I have decided to make a post completely dedicated to the Vietnam War, because of its great importance to our history. This war occured in Vietnam, Loas, and Cambodai, and it lasted from 1959, to April 30th, 1975. Overall the death toll was 3 to 4 million Vietnamese lives lost, 1.5 to 2 million Loas and Cambodian lives lost, and 58,159 US lives lost. This adds up to about 5,58,159 lives lost in just this one war. The war began when communist rulers took over the government, and Vietnam, until the Vietnamese people who opposed communism split from them, and migrated south, to form South Vietnam. North Vietnam called themselves the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and South Vietnam called themselves the Republic of Vietnam. North Vietnam was aided by their communist partners, and South Veitnam was aided by the US, and others in the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization. (SEATO) Eventually, after many years of war, the US pulled out, the North Vietnam came over to finnaly take control of the entire Vietnam, to make all of Vietnam, the Socialist Repeblic of Vietnam. When the Flag of Vietnam was adopted, only North Vientam took it, until they won the war. Now the entire country uses it as their flag.

Vietnam

Now, I am in the historical country of Vietnam! Vietnam is known by the people in the U.S. becuase of the history of the terrible war called the Vietnam war, when many people died. But there are things that arent all terrible to hear about Vietnam. Vietnam won its first indepence from China in AD 938, until it was colonized again by the French in the mid 19th century. Finnaly the efforts of resistence of the French drove them out, and the official flag of Vietnam was made, and the final independence was gained in the mid 20th century. The Flag, consisting of a red background, which represents the loss of blodd when gaining their independence from the French, and a yellow, 5-pointed star in the middle, which represents the union of workers, peasents, soldiers, intellectuals, and young people working together in the country. I have brought back a flag to the U.S. along with the things from Indonesia.

5 Themes of Geography for Brunei

For Brunei, the Location is a country on the northern coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia and is completely surrounded by the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. The Place of Brunei is how Brunei is split into two small parts, (which are surrounded by the second of the two parts of Malaysia) one much larger than the other, thus containing 97% of the entire population. The H.E.I of Brunei, is the constant use of the mountains in the smaller portion of Brunie, and the use of the ocean to the North. The Movement, is the trading with its neighbors down south, and trasporting of goods and people throughout the ocean and their own land. The region of Brunei is Southeast asia, probably a little south of the middle.

Brunei

Hello! Traveler Jack here, and today I am writing from Brunei! Just some things to know, Brunei gained its indepence in 1984 from the UK for the second and so far final time. In Brunei they speak English, (yes!) Maly, Iban, some variates of Chinese, and some of there own dialects. The culture is rich with musical heritage. They also have a heritage in Theater. The culture is comprised of many small ethnic groups. It is mostly made up of Muslims and Christians. When adressing a person, instead of saying Mr. or Ms., you say Haji for men, and Hajah fro women.

The 5 themes of Geography for Indonesia

The 5 themes of geography are HEI (Human Environment Interaction) Location, Place, Region, and Movement. For Indonesia, I am about to tell you. The location for Indonesia is a transcontinental country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. It is northwest of Australia. The Place in Indonesia is this. The climate makes Indonesia distinct becauses it is almost entirely tropical, this and the culture based on respect that also makes Indonesia distinct. The H.E.I of Indonesia is the adaptations made by living on an archipalego. In Indonesia, they also depend on the large amount of water to survive. They have modified many coasts to use as great ports. The movements are mainly of the goods being transported by ship from place to place. Or goods being transported through each individual island. The region Indonesia belings to is the region of Southeast Asia. But before 1948, it was the Malay Archipalego.

Respect in Indonesia

This is probably the most important fact that I learned during my traveling in Indonesia. The entire culture of Indonesia is based off of Respect. The older a person is, the more respect they are expected to obtain. Higher ranking people in the army, or higher class in terms of money, also obtain more respect. When you write a letter in Indonesia, instead of saying, Dear (state name here), you actually say, with respect (state name here)
